St.
John’s Sauers Lutheran Church Foundation -- Fund Designations -- The St. John’s Sauers Lutheran Church Foundation was established
in 2007 to further the religious, educational, and charitable purposes of the congregation. It does so by receiving and managing
assets, gifts, and bequests, and expending proceeds from them for the growth and expansion of St. John’s Sauers
Lutheran Church and School. Donors may specify particular projects or directions for the assets they entrust to the
Foundation’s management, including the following: -- A. Ministry. Principal and earnings to be allocated to a particular part of the
congregation, such as--
B. Christian Education
C. Cemetery Endowment. Principal and earnings to be used for the maintenance,
expansion, and improvement of St. John Lutheran Cemetery. -- D.
Organ. Principal
and earnings to be used for the maintenance or improvement of the church organ. -- E. Expansion/Build
with Christ. Principal
and earnings to be used for the acquisition or improvements of property, for major renovation or new building for Church and
or School. -- F. Old School. Principal and earnings to be used for the improvement
of the Old School/Lutheran Museum. -- G. Buildings and Grounds. Principal and earnings to be used for the maintenance
and improvement of the Church and School buildings and grounds, including former parsonage and teacher’s residence. -- H. Fair Stand.Principal and earnings to be used for the maintenance and improvement of the Fair Stand at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. -- I. National
and World Mission, International Human Care and Relief. Principal and earnings to be distributed to local or world-wide needs (hunger,
clothing, shelter, disaster relief) as designated by the Foundation board of directors or the donor, as needed, in partnership
with LCMS World Relief. -- J. Endowment
_____________________________ -- Guidelines for the operation of the Foundation -- Professional management of Foundation investments. -- The Foundation is to be governed by a 9-member board operating as a separate corporation. -- Members
of the board are to be appointed by the Church Council from the Congregation. -- Pastor and school principal as ex officio members. -- The board meets on
a quarterly basis. -- Minimum gift for a special purpose not set forth
above: $10,000.00 If a designated fund is not used for a period of
time, the specific purpose designated by the donor is no longer a part the Congregation’s plan for the Church or School,
or the fund is simply too small, then it reverts to General Endowment.
